Article: From the SC compo

From the SC compo

Torben overviewed a round in the SC-compo.

Untitled
StarCraft 2on2 Tournament
3rd. round
=[aBs]= vs [IU]

=[aBs]=Slayer: Terram, 3 o'clock
=[aBs]=SkeViHue: Protoss, 9 o'clock

[IU]Kj(f8)tKak: Protoss, 6 o'clock
[IU]FiskeBol: Terran, 12 o'clock

As you can see here, they all started almost identical , the only difference is how slayer went for a wall in on his cliff, while FiskeBol held back in the sanctum of his base. They are also cross mapped, which makes a quick double rush very viable, i.e it's not very smart to opt for quick tech units.

Here we see that FiskeBol is going fairly quick gass, accompanied by 2 barracks' , the two protoss are going 2 gateways to pump zealots, while Slayer is contempt with 2 barracks and no early gass.

Slayer now have scouted FiskeBol and has seen the early gass, FiskeBol then concludes that they'll try and hit him early, and quickly places a bunker on his cliff. This is ofcourse a smart move if you think you can't handle a double rush, but it really puts you behind so early in the game, if you add just 50 minerals to that bunker you could have yourselves a brand new barracks. I would've just smacked down a barracks at the same spot, giving you an almost good wall in, and then made my marines chill right behind.

As you can see here FiskeBol guessed right, =[aBs]= is gathering their forces right outside his main, and waits for the inevitable attack, they start going up the ramp, but seeing the buneker they decide it's not worth it, and quicky retreats. FiskeBol then makes a semi Gosu move, Slayer has a pack of marines underneath the ramp, so FiskeBol runs down with 2 marins, fires , then runs back up, Slayers' stupidass marines then follows and meets their doom in form of a bunker.

Kj(f8)tKak has already left his base to help his ally, a pretty decent move considering this is teamplay ;) , but considering FiskeBol invested in a bunker, he really should have been able to hold a dbs rush, which means that =[aBs]= would try and hit Kj(f8)tKak. So my advice to Kj(f8)tKak would really be to just amass his force in his base, or , if feeling way on top, try'n gank one of the =[aBs]= playas. Now he is really in trouble, his units are 2 places on the map, =[aBs]= is heading his way, and FiskeBol don't have that much units considering he went bunker.

Kj(f8)tKak then makes a newbish move, but =[aBs]= makes it so it turns out Gosu, Kj(f8)tKak attacks their forces with his 4 zealots that where sent to help FiskeBol, and silly =[aBs]= doesn't move command their units into his base. The 4 zealots then retreats with an insane speed to an entire different place on the map, and the =[aBs]= forces follows. This buys Kj(f8)tKak alot of time.

Kj(f8)tKak is desperately warping in a forge attempting to get a couple cannons up before the attack.

=[aBs]= has finally found they way to Kj(f8)tKak's base, and enters, but with FiskeBols forces right behind. They then make a very gosu team move, Slayer holds Kj(f8)tKa's ramp, and completely rapes FiskeBol's marines, while SkeViHue uses his superior micro management to take on Kj(f8)tKak in a zealot vs zealot fight. The result is not pretty, and with the cannons dying, so does Kj(f8)tKak.

There you see some =[aBs]= pimpsmacking d:] Well, it's down to 2on1 then , so the rest is just cruising. FiskeBol doesn't have the power to hit any of them quick, so he techs to dropship and stuff to try and do some funky stuff. Well, it really can't win the game so i don't bother commenting andy further. I'll just leave you with some screen shots.

Stay tuned for more reports, and GL to all of the teams that are left!
