Social robotics

Pierre Lison will hold a lecture on the main stage with a live demonstration of the humanoid robot Nao on the main stage at 1pm.
Wouldn't it be nice to have service robots who could assist us in our daily activities, taking care of routine tasks in homes, schools, office or hospitals? Yet for this to be possible, robots must be made aware of the social environment around them, and be able to interact naturally with humans, with voice and gestures. In this talk, we'll see how we can develop such robots, and we will demonstrate Nao, a humanoid robot used as a research platform at Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo to study human-robot interaction.
