Milliways Q and A

We've met with the guy responsible for the new restaurant, Milliways.

Milliways is the new restaurant north in the viking ship. It is placed on top of the bottle return and it has a magnificent view of the hall. I met with the boss of Nordre Sving, Leif Kristian Olstad, who runs Milliways and asked him a few questions about the new restaurant.

Could you tell me a bit about the idea behind Milliways?

Of course. Vegard called me up and asked me if we should make a proper restaurant. I asked him where, as there isn’t really that much space on the floor. He answered “we build upwards”.

The view from the restaurant is really good. Was that part of the plan?

Yes. We wanted to get the restaurant a bit up from the traffic in the hall and place it somewhere you could see the stage.

Steaks and candle light isn’t really standard food for computer parties. What was the intention behind that menu?

Many of the participants at The Gathering are getting older and we want to give them an alternative to hamburgers and pizza.

The specter of participants has expanded greatly

Yes. There are also a lot of sponsors coming here and they also need somewhere to eat. We hope this restaurant will make The Gathering a bit more attractive.

Tell me a bit about the restaurant. It isn’t that big. How many participants can it handle?

Milliways can seat 84 people and you need a reservation. This can be done in the book below the restaurant. This gives us an idea of how many people to prepare for.

When is Milliways open?

Milliways opens on Thursday and will serve customers from 5PM to 11PM.

Is this something you wish to continue next year?
Very much so. We hope to expand both the menu and the restaurant.

Thank you for taking your time to talk to us!
You’re welcome.
