Like last year we offer special tickets for
three groups of people;
demosceners, professional gamers
and
foreigners (from outside of Norway and Scandinavia).
In order to purchase these tickets you will need to supply a good reason
for us to allow you to do so, and foreigners will be asked to supply
a valid passport upon arrival. We also ask all foreign visitors to enter
a valid phonenumber when they request the tickets and random checks
will be put into play to establish that you are really not from Norway.
We are sorry for these extra measures but as tickets for The Gathering
are in hot demand, we must engage in some form of validation-process.
To qualify for a demoscener or professional gamer-ticket you will be
asked to fill in information about your group/clan, former competitions
you've entered, former demo-releases, how active you are and so on.
Our Event:Demo and Event:Game-chiefs will validate these requests and
issue tickets to the people they feel qualify. This is a manual process
and could take a couple of days. Please do not apply for these tickets
if you know that you do not really fall under these three categories.
To qualify for the title
"Professional gamer", you/your clan should be of
a certain professional level. The evaluation is done manually, and we reserve
the right to refuse the request for tickets without further reason. The main
elements that influence our thoughts will be; rankings in large/internatinal
competitions, general activity of yourself/your clan as a gamer, the stability
and "famous-level".. plus more.
To qualify for the title
"demoscener", please observe the following: You/your
group should know if you are counted as a demoscener/group. You should have produced
at least one demoscene contribution at another computer party, preferrably of some
degree of quality. We reserve the right to refuse any request for tickets without
any further reason.
How to apply:
If you want to apply for these special tickets, you enter
Partyticket.net, get to
the order-page and enter the number of tickets you'd like. After you click "Next"
you'll be faced with a large textbox named "Why?" - this is where you enter your
reasons for applying, name your previous releases etc.
Benefits:
All our participants will get a "goodiebag" on arrival, which
previously have contained quite some treats. :)
People with demoscene-tickets will be seated in our special demoscene-area.
This is our creative corner and is ment to bring the creative people
at The Gathering closer together. If you have bought a normal ticket
but would like to be seated in the demoscene-area, you can convert your
ticket by contacting us and supplying the same information as people
requesting demoscene-tickets does. People with professional gamer-tickets
does not have a special seating-area.
