More interesting facts
If you enjoyed reading the last practical example about the network load, you definetly can't miss this. There are many aspects to the operation of The Gathering that the participants doesn't know about. Being the liberals that we are, we aim to give some of these facts to you.

Since we gave you an example of the massive network load last time, we're going to give you another one to chew on. I'm guessing that you've seen the two info-boards here in the ship. Each of them can hold 320 bytes of data/characters, and it takes about 2,5 seconds to show the content. Lets pretend that all the data transferred during TG would be showed on one of these boards. If that were to happen, with the transfer rate we have now, you would have to watch the board for 157 years (might want to bring a redbull or two :)

Everyone have probably seen the Bomba bottles sold here at TG. If we were to let one of these represent one byte, in the same formula as last example, we could build 16 -sixteen- stacks of bottles from the Earth to the Moon. How's that for ya, Mr. Astronaut?

Moving on. About 6.25% of the people here at The Gathering are females. Treat them nicely.

There are 19 persons here named Arne this year. Leave them alone!

There has been used 48.816 meters (432 rolls) of toiletpaper, and 20.592 meters (144 rolls) of paper towels. No shit -- harr, harr ;-)

Last but not least. The network this year consists of about 30 kilometers of TP-cables and 214 edge switches.
