Many people choose to improve their seats here at The Gathering. These creative outbursts contribute to a very plesant atmosphere, and are a very welcome phenomenon.

Fredrik Sørli and Pål Erik Ruen, on row 50, constructed with this little badboy:
Fredrik Sørli og Pål Erik Ruen
This is their third year here at TG, so they were both well prepared for our 5-day marathon of fun. None of them will be participating in any of the compos this year, but enjoy the other contributions instead. The sosial aspect of the party is also very important for these two.

The Gathering offers a unique chance to meet old- and make new friends. There are even a couple who got married here, but that's another story :-)

A few rows closer to the stage, we found a group that calls themselves [kjekk]. As we found the name "kjekk" (handsome) quite interesting, we were quick to run down there for an interview. It turns out that the group is a gathering of four persons who run the cafeteria at a LAN called Syntaks. Syntaks is held in Drøbak and houses about 100 persons. As they don't have the same amount of resources as tg, the main attraction there is the Counter-Strike tournament.

Pia, accompanied by Fredrik and Fredrik (cool, eh?), brought this:

They, together with the two last persons in [kjekk], who were away at this time, have put an impressive amount of effort and skill into building this thing. Not only is it an incredably large shelf, it seems to be a well constructed one too.

They've all, except Fredrik on the far right, attended The Gathering three years now. On top of that, they still haven't removed last years bracelets. Fredrik, on the other hand, is here for the first time. He is planning to participate in the Useless Utility compo with his very useless VB program.

As the [kjekk] crew feels more useful, they've decided to enter the Wild compo with their very own music video. If you're not familiar with the various compos this year, please visit the event pages.

We wish them the best of luck. You too Fredrik :-)
