We hereby want to inform and invite you to participate in the first official European Cup in DDR. The first round in the European Cup will be arranged by DDR Europe, at The Gathering 2004. European DDR tournament in Norway:
Organizer: DDR Europe / Positive Gaming AS Event: European Cup, 1st tournament - at The Gathering 2004
Location/Event: The Gathering in "Vikingskipet" (the Norwegian ice skating hall from 1994) in Hamar, 2 hours driving North of Oslo. Travelling info will be available within short time on www.gathering.org.
Time: Saturday, April 10th from 0900 - 1900. The finals will be played on the stage in the hall, and if possible they will be shown on a big screen. The finals will be recorded and sent live via streaming webTV thus making it possible to see for anyone who have web connection.
Number / type of machines: 3 x Dancing Stage Euromix II Number of participants: Maximum 60.
Registration: Registering must be done up front. If as many as 60 decide to join, the first 60 confirming their participation by sending an e-mail to oph@positivegaming.com will be accepted. Pre-registration possibilities end on March 21st at 1200. Everyone who wishes to participate must register themselves at www.partyticket.net/ddr. The registry fee is 100,- NOK and must be paid with VISA/Mastercard. (Internet bank with KID-number IS available, but only for norwegian participants).
Anyone who registers MUST join the tournament or (in case of an emergency) send an e-mail with an explanation as early as possible to oph@positivegaming.com. Failure to do this will ban the person from participating in the European Cup for the rest of the year, because it may block others from being able to join the tournament.
Price: 100,- NOK pr. attendee. This fee also grants you entry to The Gathering for one day. The Gathering is the worlds largest computerparty held annualy at the Vikingship in Hamar, Norway.
Prizes: Nr. 1-3: Will be sponsored EUR 350 for covering both travelling costs as well as living costs for next European Cup which is outside the player's own country. The payments will be available against receipts confirming the costs. There will also be some nice surprises and gadgets for each of the best three.
Top 10: The top 10 in this tournament will constitute DDR Team Europe. Those 10 players will each get their own DDR Team Europe 2004 t-shirt with their individual nicks sown on (this will take a little time after the tournament).
European Cup 2004: This tournament will be valid among the total scores in the European Cup 2004.
Spectators: Spectators must pay the normal fees for entering The Gathering, and arrangements will be made to make it a spectator friendly tournament.
Media: We expect solid media coverage for this tournament, as DDR most probably will be registered as a sport before the tournament.
