Make your own mobile game
This year, the Game development competition is held with the support of the Norwegian mobile entertainment development company Plutolife AS. Grab the starterkit Plutolife has prepared for you and compete to win a chance to finish the game with help from their professional developers!
The developer of this year's best game made for the (or easily portable to) J2ME platform will be given the opportunity to work with Plutolife's team of experienced game developers and create a commercial-quality game. Plutolife will also help with distribution of the game, and secure the lucky developer a foothold in the booming mobile gaming market!
For fresh developers, a simple framework is supplied to get you up and running in an instant. To use the framework, you need the J2SE development kit (JDK), as well as Sun's Wireless Toolkit (or the equivalent; several phone manufacturers distribute their own versions of the toolkit). The framework is a simple MIDlet (J2ME program) that demonstrates user input, graphics, sound and animation.
