Special guests announced
We are very happy to announce that this years special guests will be Jess Cliffe and Mike Dussault from Valve Software!
Jess Cliffe is perhaps best known for being the co-creator of the hit game Counter-Strike, and has since then worked on gamedesign for Counter-Strike: Source and Half-Life 2. Mike Dussault has worked on Team Fortress, Half-Life,
Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Source and of course: Half-Life 2.
They will be hosting a seminar (limited seating - signup will be announced at TG) on their experiences from starting one of the worlds most popular MODs to working on killer games at Valve Software.
They will also be spending two days at The Gathering, talking to people, giving interviews, handing out prizes and helping the crew out with cool stuff, yet to be announced. :)
Read more about them here:
Jess Cliffe - Game Designer and co-creator of Counter-Strike
Cliffe joined Valve after co-creating the original Counter-Strike with
Minh Le. He enjoys contributing anything and everything to CS and is the
"voice of Counter-Strike" via the radio commands and sound effects. When
not working on Counter-Strike levels, Cliffe can be found working on
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch levels and sound design. In his spare time
Cliffe can be found practicing with his synth pop Depeche Mode cover
band, Error.
Mike Dussault - Software Developer
MikeD comes from Monolith Productions where he was the lead engineer on
Lithtech1 and Lithtech2 and worked on Shogo, NOLF and Blood2. Previous
to that, he worked at Zombie on a game called Locus. He came to Valve
because it is a mecca for innovative research and development. Since
joining Valve, Mike has worked on Team Fortress, Half-Life,
Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Source, and Half-Life 2.
